Man.

I wanted this race to be the one.

The one where I go sub 11.

It wasn’t.

11:25

26 minutes over and at least 6 poop stops late.

SO HAPPY THOUGH!

I AM AN IRONMAN x 5!

The day started out great, weather was perfect.

I jumped into the water and felt pretty strong for loop one

Loop two… well as I turned to make the journey back to the docks…

MY CALF CRAMPED UP!

Omg.

Now I know why people drown.

I could not kick for the last however long… maybe 500-700meters?

I was horrible I wanted to cry.

Got out of the water, ran up the long ass hill to T1

Thankfully the calf stopped hurting as much but I knew damage was done.

I jumped on my bike and started loading up on salt pills right away.

I knew I had to if I wanted to push at all today.

I think I was maybe 3-4 miles out and I saw someone on the side of the road.

She was asking for help.

I pulled over and told her to crab my CO2 out of my rear baggie.

Then off again I was, I wasn’t stopped for long and I knew karma was on my side now 😊

The bike went smooth and I felt pretty good.

Coming off the bike though… well

Running and me weren’t agreeing today.

The first few miles were great then the poop came.

I stopped and stopped then I stopped again…

WTF POOP!

I went in the bushes (sorry Santa Rosa, I couldn’t help it).

I went in the porta potties.

I went in public restrooms.

I went in my pants. #CRY

Not my day but even one of my “worst” days wasn’t that bad.

Ironman is a journey and HARD.

I will get my sub 11 one day.
