2575 Las Olas has been on my radar ever since I moved down to Miami.

I love Las Olas Blvd, it hosts some amazing restaurants and it happens to be home to my favorite clothing boutique.

BUT anyways back to triathlon stuff… CITY BIKES sponsors this event and I love me some City Bikes!

So I sign up. Train. Race.

2575 Las Olas Triathlon Finishers Medal

I went into this race knowing I could do well and I was super excited.

PLUS… my first race with a ZOOT kit! It isn’t our official TEAM ZOOT kit, but this retro KONA Zoot kit is amazing!

Super comfy and SUPER STYLIN’!!! I’m super stoked to be a part of this amazing brand!

Swim .75K – 14:10

Woah. Nelly.

The start was Florida cold, probably high 60’s with 20mph winds! And those Fort Lauderdale waves got me again.

Not as bad as the Rough Water Swim I did in January but we had to defiantly get over the breaks!

Thankfully the water was warmer than the air, they took the official temperature and it was 78* and I opted to NOT wear my wetsuit… I figured that it wouldn’t make that much of a difference. And looking back I am not sure it would have so I am thankful I didn’t mess with it.

Bike 20K – 39:39 (18.8 mph)

Coming out of the water I was thankful to be getting on the bike! The course is a two loop course that goes through a park. It was beautiful!!

The first bit I look down at my watch and BAMB I’m flying 🙂

THEN I notice why… those palm trees be blowin’!! At the turn around I KNOW WHY I WAS SO FAST. #stupidwind

Good thing out of the 6 mile loop only 1 maybe 2 miles of it was against the wind head on.

I felt really good about this ride. I was passing a lot of people and only the fast men with amazing sexy race wheels were passing me (ahhhh race wheels #dreaming)

SO I hop of the bike! Head to transition and get stuck behind some ole dude that seems to not be racing… excuse me… transitions are a part of the race! If you want to walk, please move to the side and let the people who care about their times pass you. Not trying to be rude, but it matters to me. Thank you 🙂

2575 Las Olas Triathlon Run

OHHHH running. This is my lover. I love it. I hate it. It hurts me. I still love it. 🙂

Mandi is not as ‘speedy’ as she once was but dammit to all if I don’t enjoy being out there pounding the pavement.

It was good. I got the amazing push from the wind for the first 1.5 miles then it pushed me back for the next 1.5.

Give and take. I love it. I love the challenge. I love triathlon.

2575 Las Olas Triathlon Finish Line

OVERALL – 1:19

It was a great day and good enough for 3rd place in my Age Group!!

SOOOO happy. I really have been trying to push and work harder and I know I am getting there.

It feels amazing to see results. I feel so fortunate to be doing what I love and I can’t wait to keep pushing and become even better.

I also got to meet one of my Instagram friends @Maribrugger! She did amazing, I am thankful she’s not in my AG! 🙂

  1. Congrats on a great race! Those ocean swims still scare me but maybe I will get the courage to do one eventually!! 🙂

    • Thank you!!! The ocean takes some getting used to but I love it now!! Swim with a group to practice, makes it much easier.
